2019 Summer Wrestling Camps

Cardio Conditioning

image61

Cardio conditioning is a fundamental part of any wrestling program.  This years  summer camps will begin every day with a high intensity interval training or HIIT cardio program for the older and more advanced kids.  For the younger kids, they will also do cardio exercises, however, it will be a much lower intensity training.  The younger kids will focus more on footwork, tumbling with hand and eye coordination drills.  They will really sweat too!

3 Training Sessions a Day

image62

The summer camps will offer three training sessions every day.  Each session will be a minimum of two hours with breaks included in between sessions.  Every session will include some type of, conditioning instruction, drill,  live wrestling.  Each day the sessions will rotate.  A new session will start each day.  The following sessions will be review of the days prior to reinforce the learning of the previous days work.  A training calendar will be posted and published on this website so the parents and athletes can see the type of training in the event they want to plan a scheduled day off or make sure they are certain to attend a certain day of training.

Preparation for the 2019-2020 Season

image63

"Experience is something you need shortly after you need it " ~ Tony Blauer  The 2019-2020 Wrestling season will be here before we know it.  Most high schools will begin their preseason training in October.  At American Warrior Wrestling, our wrestlers will be ready NOW.  They will be training all summer and competing across the state up until the beginning of the preseason.  When it comes time for the preseason to start our wrestlers will be ready to start winning and lead by example from DAY 1!  We produce champions and winning starts on day 1!  When the other wrestlers are "getting in shape" we will be already running circles around them and punishing them for taking the summer off!
